Classes for our 2022-2023 school year began on September 7th. WHY AWANA? Awana.org Awana is a international, Bible-centered youth ministry providing local churches with weekly clubs and programs for preschoolers through 6th graders. Our goal is to reach boys and girls, and their families, with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. The acronym AWANA comes from the first letters of the phrase "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed" ( 2 TIMOTHY 2:15). Reaching our world's young people is very important. Did you know that 85 percent of all people who do not accept Jesus Christ by age 18 never will? That's why Union Hope Baptist Church is offering AWANA, a series of clubs and programs geared to the needs of a particular age and grade. As a vital part of your local church ministry, Awana clubs and programs effectively reach young people with the good news of Jesus Christ. Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15 CUBBIES Cubbies is the Awana Club for preschoolers during the two years prior to regular kindergarten, usually three and four years old. Cubbies is unique because it supports and maintains parents as a primary source of spiritual nurturing by directly involving them in the teaching and learning process. Cubbies have games and activities, Bible verse memorization, handbooks, and awards during club time. Each week there is a a Bible verse for parents and preschooler to work on for memorization. SPARKS Sparks is the Awana Club for kindergartners, first-graders, and second-graders. Each club meeting has three parts. In Game Time, Sparkies enjoy entertaining games played on the Awana Game Circle. During Green Meadow Time, Sparkies gather for their appropriate Bible lesson. During Sparkle Time, clubbers recite Bible verses from memory, complete handbook sections, and earn awards. Sparky, the friendly fire-fly appears throughout the Bible based materials to encourage clubbers to complete their handbook achievements. TRUTH & TRAINING T & T stands for Truth & Training. We want our Awana Clubbers to know the truth of God's Word, and we want to train them to serve Him in their everyday lives. The the very first night clubbers attend T & T, they receive the Start Zone, the starting point for all T &T clubbers. Start Zone is a small booklet that explains what it means to trust Christ as Savior. Once a clubber completes the Start Zone, he or she will be eligible for handbook and purchase a uniform. So what kind of information is in the handbook? Actually, the T & T program has four handbooks called Ultimate Adventure Series. Clubbers progress through these levels at their own pace. T & T is broken into four clubs: 3 & 4 Grade Girls. 5 & 6 Grade Girls 3 & 4 Grade Boys. 5 & 6 Grade Boys Union Hope Baptist Church Club Meetings are on Wednesday nights at 6:45 until 8:15 Come and join with us in learning about Jesus Christ. |
